How we check our content

Every lesson is checked against mainstream, published guidance before it goes live. For first aid we follow the European Resuscitation Council, the Red Cross and the World Health Organization. For food safety we follow the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, the National Center for Home Food Preservation and EFSA. For water treatment we follow the WHO, the CDC and the US EPA. For fire rules in Portugal we follow ICNF.

Each lesson lists its sources at the bottom and shows when it was last updated. When guidance changes, we update the lesson. We never soften a safety warning to make a lesson shorter.

Wild plants and mushrooms: photos and descriptions help you learn, but never eat a wild plant because of a website or a photo. Only eat what an expert has identified in person.
